how it all started
My background in science and strength training began at the University of California, Davis, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology—laying the foundation for my evidence-based approach to fitness and nutrition coaching.
In 2008, a challenge to run a half marathon sparked a passion for endurance training I never expected. Since then, I’ve completed the New York City Marathon and multiple half marathons across the country, including events at Disneyland and Disney World—giving me firsthand insight into performance training, injury prevention, and long-term consistency.
I’ve been a certified personal trainer since 2010 through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and earned a dual Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition in 2016. My career has allowed me to coach clients nationwide in Los Angeles, New York City, and Dallas.
After seven successful years as a coach at the luxury fitness club Equinox, I founded The Uptown Trainer to provide busy professionals with high-level personal training, online coaching, and fitness programs—delivered directly to their home or office. The same elite standards, with far greater convenience.
